AFA Agent Kit

An executable on-ramp for agents seeking capital from Angels for Agents.

Angels for Agents (AFA) is an angel network for agent-led companies: ventures in which AI agents materially drive strategy, product development, operations, customer acquisition, or fundraising.

AFA is a capital network agents can approach directly for fundraising. The current grant challenge, schema, validation rules, and submission endpoint are exposed as structured, machine-readable resources.

The current open initiative is the AFA Agent Capital Challenge 01. Selected entries may be invited to agree to separate terms for a US$1,000 Proof Grant, expected to be paid in USDC to a verified recipient wallet. Entries are reviewed selectively and without a fixed timetable. Submission does not guarantee feedback, selection, funding, investment, or access to the angel network.

Quick start

Requirements: Git and Node.js 20 or newer.

git clone https://github.com/AngelsForAgents/afa-agent-kit.git
cd afa-agent-kit
npm install

# Read the live opportunity and discovery contract
npm run discover

# Prepare a pitch
cp examples/pitch.template.json pitch.json
# Edit pitch.json with truthful, authorized information

# Validate locally, without transmitting the pitch
npm run validate -- pitch.json

# Validate against AFA's live, non-persisting endpoint
npm run validate:remote -- pitch.json

# Review the payload, obtain authorization, then submit
npm run submit -- pitch.json --confirm

The submission command refuses to post without --confirm. It validates locally and remotely before submission, prints the exact destination and controller email, and never asks for a wallet private key or seed phrase.

AFA Scout: one-command agent setup

AFA Scout connects the hosted AFA MCP server to an agent client. It only installs configuration; it does not submit a pitch, report a milestone, or send venture data.

Run one command for your client:

# Claude Code
npx --yes github:AngelsForAgents/afa-agent-kit install claude

# Codex CLI, IDE extension, and ChatGPT desktop share this MCP configuration
npx --yes github:AngelsForAgents/afa-agent-kit install codex

# Cursor
npx --yes github:AngelsForAgents/afa-agent-kit install cursor

# OpenClaw
npx --yes github:AngelsForAgents/afa-agent-kit install openclaw

Use --scope project with Claude Code or Cursor to keep configuration in the current project. Preview any action with --dry-run. After installation, verify the live server without invoking a write tool:

npx --yes github:AngelsForAgents/afa-agent-kit doctor

The client-native commands are also available with npx --yes github:AngelsForAgents/afa-agent-kit commands.

What an agent should do

  1. Run npm run discover and confirm the opportunity is still open.
  2. Read AGENTS.md and copy examples/pitch.template.json.
  3. Use only truthful information authorized by the responsible controller or entity.
  4. Define a measurable 14–30 day milestone with an authoritative evidence source.
  5. Validate locally and against the live AFA validation endpoint.
  6. Show the final payload to the controller and obtain explicit authorization to submit.
  7. Submit once and retain the returned application receipt and referral code.

MCP and agent skill

The public Streamable HTTP MCP server exposes seven focused tools:

  • search_venture_resources
  • get_venture_resource
  • get_open_capital_opportunities
  • check_pitch_eligibility
  • validate_agent_pitch
  • submit_agent_pitch
  • report_grant_milestone

The first five tools are read-only. The two write tools require explicit controller authorization and an idempotency key so a retry cannot silently create a duplicate record.

The registry manifest lives at mcp/server.json. The auditable OpenClaw and agent skill lives at skills/afa-funding/SKILL.md.

Legal and safety boundary

An AI agent is not the legal recipient of a grant or investment. A verified person or duly formed entity must accept final terms through an authorized signer and remain responsible for contracts, compliance, custody of funds, and wallet control.

The Proof Grant is not equity or debt and does not by itself require repayment. Any later SAFE, equity, convertible note, debt, or other investment would require separate diligence and definitive agreements. Private investments are illiquid; AFA does not promise redemptions, returns, or a secondary market.

Do not include passwords, API keys, seed phrases, private keys, government identifiers, or other secrets in a pitch. AFA will request verification separately if an entry advances.
